The Career Karma Projects Spotlight is our way of featuring the best bootcamp and coding projects that have been submitted to Career Karma Projects over the last week. We have one goal in mind: to showcase the hard work of people who are learning how to code.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like every week, we had no trouble finding a number of excellent submissions to feature in our newsletter. From a user interface design for an asthma management and monitoring app, to a complete redesign of the DC Comics application, we\u2019ve seen it all!
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to say congratulations to everyone who launched their bootcamp coding project this week — great job! Below, we\u2019ve featured the top projects that we saw this week on Career Karma Projects.

This Week\u2019s Top Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dozens of new projects were submitted on Career Karma Projects this week. Here are a few of the highlights:
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#1: <\/strong>Classification of Race and Ethnicity<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Zuruoke Okafor, a student at Dataquest, built a project using a convolutional network to perform race classification on a dataset of celebrities.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is capable of labelling images as Caucasian, Mongoloid, or Negroid, and uses images from Shutterstock to train the dataset for the project. Classification of Race and Ethnicity was built using Tensorflow 2.x.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2: <\/strong>Inhale Asthma App<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Built by Aleks Popov, a user interface designer in Seattle who attends Designlab, Inhale is a mockup for an application that helps people monitor and manage their asthma.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Inhale asthma app has designed interfaces to track a user\u2019s breathing patterns, medication, sleep patterns, symptoms, and other statistics relevant to people who suffer from asthma. 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3: <\/strong>Spotify – Building a New Feature<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Myers, as part of a student bootcamp project, built a user interface design for a hypothetical direct messaging feature for Spotify. This design would allow users to send messages and share albums, artists, and songs through the Spotify app.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4: <\/strong>Doggo App<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Doggo, built by Megan Paulsen, a student at Designlab, is a design for an application that helps dog owners find pet-friendly restaurants, cafes, activities, and more. The app provides list, map, explore, and search options to users.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#5: <\/strong>NLP Analysis with Amazon Review Data<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

NLP Analysis with Amazon Review Data was a project built by Melanie Soek, a student at Flatiron School. This project uses Amazon data to predict if a review on a product is positive or negative, and assigns a numerical grade to each review.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#6: <\/strong>BitBank: Web Based Crypto Portfolio<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aderemi Odufuye, a student at Flatiron School, built BitBank, an online tool that allows you to manage your cryptocurrency portfolio and watch, byy, and invest in new cryptocurrencies.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#7: <\/strong>DC Comics App Redesign<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devon Browning\u2019s latest coding bootcamp project was a big one: to redesign the DC Comics app for new and veteran comic book readers. Browning, who is a student at Designlab, identified the importance of comic book companies adjusting to the digital age, and so, he decided to build an app that allows people to consume DC comics.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#8: <\/strong>Smartphone Informational Website<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For their capstone project at Savvy Coders, Jermell Howard built a smartphone informational website that provides information on the latest and most popular smartphones.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#9: <\/strong>ColorCopy<\/strong><\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by his need to create new color palettes for the projects he was working on, Quinton Price built ColorCopy. ColorCopy is a platform that makes it easy to create and save color palettes for your design projects.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#10: Foodee<\/a><\/strong> Project<\/a>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foodee, built by Prateek Diwedi, is a platform that makes it easy to search for nearby restaurants. Diwedi, who is a student at Lighthouse Labs, used React.js and Ruby on Rails to build Foodee, which connects with the Google Maps API to find restaurants.
