I enjoyed my time at Devmountain. It was one of the few (if not the only) Bootcamp that offered Software QA. I learned so much about manual testing & test automation during the 6-week program & I’d do it all over again.
Pros
- Support from instructors - Curriculum - Up-to-date tools & lessons
Cons
- A lot of employers are looking for a deeper understanding of JavaScript. I couldn’t even pass the badge test on LinkedIn. - Finding a job is really tough. Using my skills in another role unrelated to QA

I signed up for the on campus Software Engineering program but due to the pandemic my Flatiron experience was entirely online. Here’s what I learned to make it through their challenging program; show up, do the work, reach out when you’re struggling, and trust their process because it is the TRUTH. During the multiple crises of 2020, Flatiron made decisions and put out messages that supported and valued their students. It was extraordinary. My one regret is that I wasn’t better prepared when I...
Pros
Flatiron is very responsive to issues. They have a well thought out process in place and an incredible support system for students (educational coaches, counselors, online Ask A Question, study groups, etc) .
Cons
Sometimes the online Ask A Question service was overwhelmed and had long wait times. All the instructors I encountered were incredibly knowledgeable about programming however, all were not equally gifted at explaining concepts.
