Better than other DS bootcamps, good fit for a strongly self-motivated student, otherwise pass.

It's impossible for Lambda to get you to full "Data Scientist" in 9 months. A 1 year MS program can't do it either. There are also issues with the curriculum that you will need to compensate for. This isn't unique to Lambda- every DS bootcamp and most DS masters programs are pretty weak. If you're dead set on a DS bootcamp (and already have a Bachelor's degree) then go with Lambda, which is stronger than any other program that I've come across. Just be prepared to do a LOT of self teaching to...

* Data science is heavy on masters and PhDs. You will struggle to get past screener interviews without an MS, and almost none of the students who lack a Bachelors degree get "data" jobs. Instead they get developer jobs, which FSW will...

My experience as a minority and Veteran

Created 1 month ago
When I found VSchool, it was one of the few bootcamps that offered the ability to use GI Bill funds. Thankfully, I had just enough left to get in. I know that, even if I didn't, they would have found a way to work with me any way. Since I was living in an RV when I joined VSchool, I was extremely excited about the free housing. I didn't have very high expectations about the place that I'd be staying, but it more than surpassed expectations (with a couple exceptions). Being able to live and...
- Community - Connection to industry - Knowledgable instructors - Local involvement - Free housing - Great friendships and beer :)
- Roommate issues (however, they were resolved quickly and effectively) - Career prep is mixed in with learning and skills development and can be hard to focus on either during those times - Lingering stigma within the tech world about the...
