Short first day but we got to speak with the CEO of the Kenzie. It was really motivating as an immigrant hearing his story. He is an immigrant from Malaysia who came to the US for school. He said “We were raising our first child while I worked three jobs to pay for college, so I understand the struggles of many of our students. Kenzie was designed for the underdogs. We built the program around our students and removed barriers so many of them could re-skill themselves while making ends meet.” I love that the school is addressing and pushing for diversity and inclusion. 57% of the students are people of color and 40% are women. I’m proud to be working my way to be part of the 3% of Latinas in STEM.
