I had an overall good experience! I was a student at Horizons the summer before my last semester at Georgia Tech as an Electrical Engineer and wanted to go into Software Engineering upon graduation. I took Intro to Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures and Algorithms but had no practical knowledge, that's where Horizons was a great addition to my education. Initially when applying I though Horizons was a scam. Almost all the reviews I could find were very positive, but when going...
Pros
- great curriculum - great head instructor Jordan and TA Zack but they most likely won't be back - great location - good guest speakers
Cons
- bad organization - no job search support - poor networking events

Horizons does an incredible job introducing and teaching mobile and web development to students of all skill levels. Unlike the theoretical computer science classes in college, Horizons teaches you how to utilize software development tools and frameworks to build actual products. Near the end will they give students the opportunity to start their own initiative and the...
Pros
Explore the SF location, competent instructors, ambitious students, rigorous curriculum.
Cons
Expensive unless you receive a fellowship (~10k)

I loved spending time in SF getting to know many talented people of various backgrounds. We worked in randomly rotated pairs every day. The bootcamp organizers helped us obtain nearby housing, and also made sure we got to explore the area. There were events to connect with alumni and entrepreneurs, as well as a hackathon and presentation day. We also got helpful career advice and tips on resume writing and effective storytelling for interviews.
Pros
- multiple mentors with a bot for a help queue - leave daily reviews on mentors and partners so you can get the best experience - randomly rotated pairs for collaborative learning and a chance to get to know everyone - outside...
Cons
- many students, so the students who were really struggling were prioritized in the help queue, resulting in less quality help for students who might understand 80% of the material - students who complained about all mentors except for...
