Many blockchains claim to be fast, but how do you evaluate the claims? What exactly is decentralization, and what is its relation to Byzantine Fault Tolerance? What is Fault Tolerance in general? Does scaling have an intrinsic limit? What does the CAP theorem really say? We will learn the theory behind distributed systems and databases, and how blockchain evolved out of that. Unlike our other bootcamps, this is very theoretically focused — we will be studying the whitepapers of major blockchains and other relevant literature.
