The Trilogy Coding Bootcamp done through the UCR Extension Center was a solidly good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the teacher was an industry veteran who had quite a lot of experience to share, and even the TAs were knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Pros

Solid curriculum, which reflected technology changes as they were happening. (As an example, React Hooks came out just before the class started, and we had a lesson on them before the end)

Cons

1) The website was unintuitive and awkward (Which bothered me, since they're teaching Web dev) 2) The career assistance resources were poorly communicated and made available.

UCR is a rapidly growing UC campus that is quickly developing a reputation for innovation and diversity. It is located in the Inland Empire, and while bootcamp programs may largely be online, the location matters because the IE region of Southern California is being revitalized, and there is a great deal of interest and investment happening in UCR grads. The instructors are all UC-caliber, which is excellent, and programs are targeted, mindful, and well delivered.

Pros

Really thoughtful and well-connected instructors who think out of the box for students, the curriculum rivals any other program, and the university community is loaded with opportunities and disciplines through which to apply your skills.

Cons

Career Services could be better, but with the right academic connections and a diligent effort on your part, you will be fine.
