Very negative experience

Very easy interview difficulty

They are barely associated with UT Austin and will have very aggressive sales tactics to sign up. I decided to unenroll and go with a program more closely related to UT Austin and they have been very difficult about refunding my money and the foreign transaction fee. They are not located within the US and have been either non responsive or responding to me with unrelated information.
Pros
none that I was able to find that you couldn't find better elsewhere
Cons
Not located within the US so career mentoring becomes difficult, very responsive when selling the program then they will take days to weeks to respond.

I am near the completion of the PG Program in Data Science & Data Management Systems. The program has exceeded all my expectations and provided me with a great learning experience. I have learned so much during my time in this program. The success of my learning is due in part to the design of the curriculum and the collaboration of great minds between the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin, Great Learning, and highly experienced industry experts. It is well designed and very...
Pros
Excellent opportunity to learn new skills for the ever-changing job market in the data science and data management field

I am about to finish the 21–22 program and during this program I was promoted to a ML Engineer position. I caught the neural network bug in college but had trouble even getting interviews for ML positions without any certificates or grad school (even though I was primary author of a deep learning paper published in 2020).
Pros
*Affordable: at the time of admission enrollment was $3k making it much more affordable than say a Georgia Tech data science certificate * Focus on business applications: the datasets and projects you get are very focused on driving some...
Cons
Cons: * NLP Module: the NLP videos were really really rudimentary compared to the computer vision module. The “data science expert" mostly focused on simple feature engineering and only went over VADER for sentiment analysis (i.e. no...

Terrible timelines, poorly put together curriculum and material, poor delivery. Basically not even associated with UT Austin.
Pros
You learn the basics of coding and important features of data science
Cons
Most of it - The tests are timed and unusually hard for students who have no experience. They are poorly written and unclear almost every time. They make them complicated and tricky for no reason, i.e. ONE number or ONE mess up and you get...

I wanted to learn the concepts and the techniques of ML and AI and I chose this course on line. I have to say the course exceeded my expectations. The pace of teaching is perfect for people with other commitments and the modules are complete. Teachers are very clear and mentors help students when they need clarifications.
Pros
The schedule is flexible but sufficiently regular. The material is very helpful and the students can review the live mentor sessions after the fact if needed. The exercises helped me to consolidate my knowledge.
Cons
I don't see any cons at the moment

PGP-AIML has been a great experience, it is more than just an excellent online classroom experience, this program has allowed me to stay up-to-date on many different topics such as Supervised Learning, Statistical Learning, and trained me in skills and techniques with Python, Scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas, among others, that will allow me to face the challenges and decisions that I will have to make in my company with greater confidence.
Pros
- Interactive experience - Continuous learner support - Rigorous program - Requires dedication and commitment
Cons
- For some people may require higher levels of self-discipline - It is not focused on students connecting, collaborating, creating and sharing.

It is the best and the most comprehensive online program I have ever done.
Pros
It is a very comprehensive content. The gradual approach to teaching and re-enforcement of the complex subjects makes it easier for better understanding.
Cons
The pace can be too fast as there are other recommended article links to be read on the subject. One could fall behind trying to read the articles.

Knowledgeable instructors and outstanding student support.

Course content is excellent for students or professionals alike, starting from basic concepts and moving all the way to model deployment within cloud environments. Extra documentation is provided for those seeking a more mathematically robust explanation of concepts. Instructor lead learning is fantastic, as all 3 of the individuals I interacted with are highly skilled and knowledgeable.
Pros
Instructor lead labs once a week. Learn at own pace structures. Outstanding customer service.
Cons
None at this moment in time.

The 9 months PG AI/ML course with University of Texas and Great Learning is both complete and interesting. It takes you from calculus, matrixes, statistics (that you have to revise before the course) to building neural networks in python and deploying models (at the end of the program). Pre-work before joining can be overwhelming and first python projects can be time consuming and frustrating (debugging) but hang on tight because this is really worth it. They take you on a journey to debunk...
Pros
- concepts are well explained, with various great illustrations and analogies - study groups adds confidence - mentoring sessions brings clarifications
Cons
- be ready to spend few weeks of revision before starting - be ready to spend min 8 hours of study a week for 9 months

I have really had a difficult but beautiful experience, I came in thinking it would be just one of those online classes, but it has been detailed, stressful, tasking and satisfying experience and it has been worth every penny. I’m pretty sure at the end of this, I will be a wanted and need AI professional in the industry.
Pros
The mentored online sessions which i always look forward to
Cons
Not really a fan of changing instructors, The flow is usually kinda interrupted, but I understand the times we are in will warrant for that. No worries.

Who started Career Karma?

Created 2 years ago

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Our journey took place in 2014-2015 and if it wasn't for the three of us doing it together we wouldn't be here today. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... I say an incredible opportunity for others like me who were trying to learn how to code on their own but failing to complete their transition. Three years into us...

How do you successfully pass the technical interviews for Flatiron and Hack Reactor (Software Engineering and Cyber Analytics) ?

Created 2 years ago

Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
