About Qwasar Silicon Valley

Qwasar Silicon Valley offers training programs that are truly designed for the 21st century. The world has changed, access to knowledge has changed, and the workplace today is about skills, collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity. Hard, technical skills and soft skills are not learned in a lecture, online video, or by knowledge transfer. You need to experience it, to learn by doing, and that is the core of what we do at Qwasar. Learning new skills is like learning a sport: it takes time, practice, trial and error, determination, and not giving up. Today, entry-level jobs at tech companies have high demands and want experience. They want proof that you’ve experienced the software development cycle, have strong software engineering fundamentals, and that you are competent with git, peer code reviews, debugging, structured problem solving, writing code to high standards, and contributing from day 1 to the engineering team. These are things that you learn by doing. Our programs are entirely project-based and are backed by an enormous amount of learning science. No other program is so rooted in science and the future of work and learning, and no other program will prepare you as well for the workplace and long-term career success. Qwasar programs are longer than traditional bootcamps and use an untraditional learning model. We focus on building strong software engineering fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, debugging, and structured problem solving. You understand how a computer works at a fundamental level, which is required for most software jobs. Qwasar programs are all remote (for now), and are available in full-time or part-time formats. We use an innovative platform that empowers you to drive your learning, and focus on building a strong community through live coding sessions, coding workshops, role plays and technical interviews, and daily stand-up meetings. Our programs are elite-level: they are tough, challenging, and require hard work, but they are also incredibly rewarding and will prepare you for software jobs at Tier 1 tech companies. We aim to make our programs affordable, which is part of our mission to make education accessible and to train millions for the digital economy. Join one of the world’s leading learning platforms and learning communities!

I applied to Qwasar, Interviewed and told during the interview that the Recruiter and Qwasar would love for me to join. The Recruiter told me I would receive more paperwork in 24 hours. 24 came and went. He ghosted me as I am not sure this program is interested in applicants outside of their typical applicant pool.
Pros
Nothing at this time. Seemed like a great program at face value but apparently not in reality.
Cons
Does not seem like a program open to typical Silicon Valley Applicants.
