I did Actualize Online Live as my only activity this past summer and it was very enjoyable and rewarding. The best thing about it was the focus on ingraining in the students that all programing languages and technologies are the same and can be learned online. We learned all the must-know languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript and for the most part we were coding in Ruby (on Rails). So even though Ruby isn't the most useful language in terms of getting a job (it is up there though), now...
Pros
Enjoyable experience, awesome instructors, time set apart for "Job Hacking", social, focus on keyboard shortcuts to code faster and more efficient, overall very professionally executed bootcamp with an intelligent curriculum. Like...
Cons
Very expensive, coding in general can be stressful and annoying but at the same time very rewarding when you get past the problem

More than just code

It was clear from the beginning that the Actualize instruction philosophy is catered to beginners, by people who understand what it’s like to be a beginner. The curriculum challenged students when they needed to be challenged and walked them through topics when helping hands were the better approach. You could tell they’ve learned exactly what students need, when they need it, and how best to go about it. The career coaches are invaluable and readily go above and beyond to support students and...
Pros
Amazing instruction, career and resume coaching, interview prep, real-world coding exercises
Cons
I would have liked to have had a little more knowledge about user interface and design, but it’s not a design course, after all, so that’s more of a wishlist item.

I attended the night and weekend program. It's a very intensive 12 week program in Ruby. Class is Sunday from 9am - 5pm and Monday through Thursday 6pm - 9:30pm. Assume you will have no life. The timing of the class was great because it allowed me to keep my day job. The course starts with a 4 week pre-work course. It is an introduction into using the language Ruby. The instructor and teaching assistants are very knowledgeable about programming and are very helpful when it comes to doing the...
Pros
The teacher allows one to make attempts before he jumps in to help. The teacher shows the work twice, once to show the students what to do and a second time after the students have tried it. There is plenty of time to ask questions and the...
Cons
The downside of the course is that you have to find time to review what you learn which I found difficult with having a full time job. They don't have career placement. They have their way of finding a job which I found difficult to do but...
