I attended Claim, but ended up dropping out shortly before the class was over. The reason was the poor instructor that failed to teach anything. There were only 3 of us in the course, and all three of us went to Claim to ask for a new instructor, and each time they only went "Well he has two Masters so he's staying". The school does not actually care if you succeed or not. They got your money, and that's all they care about. Most of your time will be self-teaching, something you can do without...
Pros
Can be a good introduction With proper instruction the syllabus is nice
Cons
They don't actually care about you They'll keep you from graduating until you write a review They judge instructors by what their background is, not how well of a instructor they are They don't listen to their students

The Java FullStack program is intense and requires a tremendous amount of work. To be successful be sure you have a god laptop or desktop that has at least 8GB of RAM, although the more the better. Two monitors or even two separate computers is even better. Do your pre-work and be sure to do the projects assigned.
Pros
The program does take the student from semi-noob to FullStack exposure in 12 exceedingly fast and explosive, eye-popping, brain feeding, sleep deprived, emotional and intellectual fantastic journey!!!!! If you have a great team and a...
Cons
Honestly, too short, adding another week or two to the program would be ideal IMHO.... By the time you realize you are actually learning computer software dev and can actually think, create and design something the course is near the...

Having no prior training whatsoever, Claim Academy showed me that anyone can learn coding. This experience was amazing. The instructors were both knowledgeable and patient. My online classmates were so supportive. The help you receive both during and after training is incredible. Claim is hands down one of the best schools I ever attended.
Pros
Instructors were good, classmates were good, overall good.
Cons
Not enough tutors, though I here they're changing that.

The Java Full Stack Developer program is a super intensive 12-week fulltime course for those want to do full stack development. It's a great way to learn how websites/apps work from front end (Spring or REACT) to back end (Java) to the sql database. Consider this to be websites/apps A to Z. Because at the end, 'you' will build a full app yourself! Claim is a super Veteran-friendly school with good admin support, and a staff that is not necessarily trying to mold each student to be a certain...
Pros
Good instructors, but be prepared to do alot of individual study and work too. Good admin support. Good for Veterans.
Cons
Perhaps to have a few more tutors or mentors on hand.... But as said, students should be prepared to do alot of individual work as well.

Great Experience.

no support after graduation, if you ask them for help or challenge anything they do they will ban you from the board and not offer anything for the large amount of money that they give you. also don't get used to who you are talking to with the company because they will not be employed there in 2 months
Pros
victor and drew(both instructors) were amazing
Cons
no hands on labs, no study guides from comptia. no job placement assistance and massive staff turnover

Now that it had been more than a year with no full-time employment as a developer, I will share my experience during my time with Claim Academy. The first red flag to start with was when I was filling out the documentation for financing. At the time of my application, they advertised their "pay after you get the job" only for them to pressure you into paying the school in full by their Climb Credit loan. Looking back at it, I should have never taken the loan as I am paying $400 a month and...
Pros
Quality instructors, a variety of programs, and some flexibility
Cons
Treats you like a number instead of a student, will not respect you and your future, very expensive tuition for the same quality of education as free or affordable boot camps

Good course structure and nice staff

I completed the Full Stack JavaScript Developer program and loved it. I came in with some coding knowledge and Manav, my instructor, did a great job balancing bringing the others from no or little knowledge up and challenging me with more topics to explore. It’s definitely a program that requires self-motivation and discipline to get the most out of it but the staff is there to assist you in that journey.
Pros
Challenging, comprehensive course curriculum with great staff and job support.
Cons
Not the cleanest refrigerator for students.

Who started Career Karma?

Created 2 years ago

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Our journey took place in 2014-2015 and if it wasn't for the three of us doing it together we wouldn't be here today. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... I say an incredible opportunity for others like me who were trying to learn how to code on their own but failing to complete their transition. Three years into us...

How do you successfully pass the technical interviews for Flatiron and Hack Reactor (Software Engineering and Cyber Analytics) ?

Created 1 year ago

Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
