I was a summer school teacher and server before I attended Grace Hopper. I had several friends who were engineers and I wanted to pursue a career change so I tried out learning to code on my own. After about a year of *not very intense* studying, I finally applied to the GH program. I just barely knew how to write a for loop. My experience at Grace Hopper was amazing! The way to curriculum is organized is amazing! When you are taught a new topic and given the perfect workshop to solidify the information you learned. You are given projects to complete that seem so hard and out of reach but when you sit down to complete them you realize that you have learned all the material and are fully knowledgable in the area. Grace Hopper was life changing and I am so happy I attended!

Pros

The community is amazing. Everyone is there to help each other. There is no competition between students. Everyone wants the best for everyone else. There are knowledgeable instructors who are always willing to help.

Cons

This isn't a con on the program itself but on the nature of a bootcamp. Its super overwhelming. When applying to a bootcamp you sort of expect it to be a lot of work and a lot information thrown at you. That's definitely true. It was...See more

Supportive environment with patient and knowledgeable staff. Lots of opportunities to try new things, ask questions, and get help with technical and interpersonal challenges.

Cons

They give very optimistic figures for career outcomes and starting salaries -- remember that things can take time, and starting over in a new field is a challenge and you most likely won't earn six figures right away.
