I was looking at the "name brand" bootcamps around Austin when I found Inventive Academy via SkillsFund. It was offering close-to-full-time-in-class hours for a part-time price, for twice as long as the full-time bootcamps (6 months). After visiting their location and seeing the neat building and all the free and easy parking, I was sure I wanted to attend. Having graduated, I still stand by my decision to choose Inventive for these two reasons.
Pros
Tons of in-class time. Virtually unlimited assistance for 6+ months. Free/easy parking. You learn what you're supposed to learn.
Cons
You can't attend every bootcamp, so you always wonder whether certain things could be done differently, or are done better at other bootcamps. But nothing in particular stands out as something I would change.

I have tried many times to learn coding but the long boring courses and just the lecturing bored me, so I lost focus fast. After 3rd attempt I tried Inventive and I have never been able to grasp full stack developing the way I have with this course. The teachers want you to succeed and their techniques are tailored to your learning capabilities. This course do more than just teach you code it also teaches you how to build your online presence, portfolio, interviewing, and career! Thank you...
Pros
Teachers, live course, video course, and one in ones if needed.
Cons
Maybe I needed a little more time on certain projects but they did help me as needed.

Who started Career Karma?

Created 2 years ago

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Our journey took place in 2014-2015 and if it wasn't for the three of us doing it together we wouldn't be here today. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... I say an incredible opportunity for others like me who were trying to learn how to code on their own but failing to complete their transition. Three years into us...

How do you successfully pass the technical interviews for Flatiron and Hack Reactor (Software Engineering and Cyber Analytics) ?

Created 2 years ago

Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
