Techtonica provides an opportunity for women and non-binary folks that are trying to get into tech. They provide different resources so you can be successful in the program and so at the end you can be competitive for a resource. It is a 6 month online program and you will provided with a mentor and working with others is highly encouraged!

Pros

-Mentors are provided to assist you -Fullstack software engineering in training -1 on 1 meetings with the team manages -code challenges every week - guest are invited to talk about different positions and provide different resources

Cons

- Everything is online so you have to make an effort to work well with others and make sure you are putting in the work

My overall message to people about Techtonica (women, non-binary, femme identity) is that this is a great way to get your foot in the door in tech! It is well known there are many coding bootcamps, many of which charge *a lot* of money for training, usually with little to no job connections. This does not describe Techtonica, in my experience. I chose Techtonica because it met my needs and goals. It is a boot camp that puts women and nonbinary people at the forefront and supports diversity in the tech place and the fact that this boot camp is free and offers almost a guarantee for an internship at the end was a no-brainer for me to join. - Sometimes the curriculum does not match the instructions are given directly to cohort mates - Since it is all remote, you may not feel as connected to your cohort mates unless you really put in the effort
