I chose Hack Reactor for a few reasons but a big one was the rigorous schedule that asks students to be working at least 6 days a week 9 hours a day. I knew that if I was going to leave my career I needed to come out of a boot camp with the best preparation I could get and I figured the more I can cram into 12 weeks the better. For me, the intensity was a plus and I was able to keep up with the material. The pace of the course is furious for the first 5 weeks as they introduce new material...
Pros
- Great staff and community - Help is available from 9 am EST - 11 pm EST - Learn in-demand tech skills - Curated coding challenges every day to prepare for job interviews - Work on capstones that mimic real job environment - Strong alumni...
Cons
- Program is what it is, it's fast-paced and if you start to fall behind you have to be proactive and put in extra work to catch up.

I loved my time at Hackbright. The teachers, the career support and the other woman in the bootcamp were all absolutely wonderful to work with. I found my job as a SWE in about 2-3 months after graduating. I'm not sure what the curriculum is now but I remember wishing it included some newer technologies like react. Python is super helpful and a great language to learn, I'm still coding in python at me job.
Pros
- Loved the people. - Lots of support from the teachers & mentors. - Lessons were challenging and taught real world technologies. - The app at the end was wonderful.
Cons
- Wish there were newer technologies react, redux etc. - probably not ideal for someone who is more interested in Front end, though there have been graduates from here who are FE engineers
