I was a self-taught programmer when I decided to attend a Bootcamp to grow professionally. I did my due diligence and looked at all the leaders in the space. There are quite a few "certificate mills" essentially selling pick axes in a gold rush so buyer beware. But Hack Reactor stood out. Additionally, they are selective and have a rigorous vetting process and so are more respected in...

Cons
The cost is arguably the biggest con. The program is quite expensive. But you get what you pay for as its said. The other is that the program is a little too short for my liking. 12 weeks (16 if you attend their extended program that is...

Portfolio

A designers portfolio is very important. It is what differentiates you over other graduates and designers. Portfolio work was not started until the last 2 weeks. I would suggest starting it as soon as possible. This was not expressed enough throughout the course.
Pros
You get to meet like minded people, learn great skills and network.
Cons
Portfolios can look very similar because projects are all the same.
