I had a great time at Designation and definitely learned more than I could have teaching myself. They have good content and the instructors are very helpful and kind. I hear they're discontinuing the design program so the point of this review may be moot but who knows maybe they'll bring it back. It would have been cool if one of the projects was actually helpful. Also, I think they should have treated designing a portfolio with the same UX process we followed when working on projects. Also,...
Pros
The instructors were great. They were very helpful and kind.
Cons
The curriculum could have been better and the career coaching part of it isn't great.

Overall, this bootcamp is a fantastic first stepping stone for any aspiring UX or UI designer. Through this program I was able to work on 2 projects working directly with the client, which was a great way to obtain experience and see how a full time designer job might function. Along the way, I was able to learn critical design skills, such as user research, usability testing, wire framing, and prototyping. I also learned soft skills needed to be an effective designer, like teamwork and strong...

I feel confident in interviewing and being able to execute the design process in a professional setting. There are some wrinkles that could be worked out in their system, but overall it was worth it.
Pros
I would say the key highlights for me are the in-person phase where you get real client experience and the fact that this program has a UI focused track. The client phase is key. You are essentially working with your team as a contract...
Cons
I'm concerned that after being bought by Flatiron some of the rigorous standards may be loosening. I understand that the school should listen to student feedback and be fair and compassionate, but I also think that it's key that the...
