Too much, too fast

Created 1 day ago
If you are just starting to learn Web Development, I do not recommend this bootcamp. Learning three stacks in a short amount of time is not as helpful as it sounds. By the time you're in the middle of your next stack, you have completely forgotten how to develop in the previous stack. It is my belief, and many others', that gaining proficiency in one language is more beneficial to being a better developer and job-ready than trying to cram three languages together.
The curriculum is easy to follow.
Cramming three languages in three months does not help you understand each individual language. There comes a point when you start to just regurgitate code to pass an exam vs working through logic.

Loved my experience--perhaps not for everyone

Created 27 days ago
I knew I wanted to participate in a coding bootcamp and Galvanize made it really easy to determine if their teaching style fit my needs by offering an intro to Javascript mini-course. After I figured out this was something I could really get into, they gave me a lot of incentives to invest in myself through diversity, early-bird, and referral discounts on tuition (still a hefty sum of money for most though--luckily I was privileged enough to have enough saved). I liked how they operate on a...
- Cohort model - Flexible structure for different learning styles - AMAZING instructors (at least when I was there) - Curriculum focused on marketable skills - Discounted tuition opportunities - Carer coaching - Great physical environment...
- Not a lot of alums were particular helpful in getting connections to new companies - Seemed like there was a lot of internal re-organization that pushed out some great instructors - Still pretty expensive--competitive price, but that...
