Incredibly transformative program

If you are going to attend a boot camp, I would highly recommend that Flatiron School be your top pick. With world-class instructors, brilliant career coaching, and a worldwide alumni community, Flatiron provides every student with everything they need to launch a career in tech. Because of this program, I was able to quickly turn my life around after being rejected from grad school - and now I am a happily employed C# and python developer! This school teaches you how to learn, but, as with any boot camp, how much you achieve is a result of a consistent work ethic.
Pros
This program teaches Ruby as your first backend language. While Ruby on Rails may not be making the news every day, it provides an accessible way to learn abstract concepts. The job support is also outstanding, including mock interviews,...
Cons
One of the only downsides to Flatiron is the length of the program. You graduate with a lot of new knowledge, definitely enough to get a job if you work for it. Still, the learning curve after graduation can be incredibly demotivating for...

Long Overdue Review

Hi, my name is Sean. If you ever been to this part (https://www.thinkful.com/outcomes/) of the Thinkful website, you will see me there. This is my long overdue review of the Bootcamp. My experience might not be 100% relevant (since it's old) but it's 100% real and I would like to share. Back in 2015, I was a beat-down Chemist with over 9 years of experience. Even with two degrees, I was barely making minimum wages. I knew something wasn't right, so I decided to make a change. I was always interested in programming so after months of self-studying, I decided to enroll in a Bootcamp (to pursue the career path). When I joined, Thinkful literally just launched their program, so I was among the cohort number 2. The first few weeks were spent on understanding programming concepts. We got familiarized with pair-programming, which eventually helped a ton during the interview process. I remember doing my first full-stack project in week 4. It was a nerve-wracking experience but extremely...
Pros
- Project-based learning - World-class instructors - Pair-programming experience - Mock interviews - Easily accessible TA and Q&A sessions - 1-on-1 mentorship - Career support (after graduation)
Cons
- Expensive. Make sure you have time (months) & money to invest. - Even if you do everything right, getting a job is sometimes all luck.
