Flatiron School's program characteristics initially appear to be enticing and very competitive. Prior to admission, candidates are expected to complete pre-work to grasp the intermediate knowledge and understanding of the field. Online acceptance was not difficult, and 2 week post-acceptance probation period was challenging, yet not impossible. However, I only came to realize that our program material revolved around learning Ruby. Ruby is EASY to teach, but is not relevant for application in...
Pros
The instructors and working environment were dynamic and decent.
Cons
Normalizing pressure, anxiety and insignificant concepts that do not benefit us for real world situations. Misleading marketing and program success.

First of all, be ready to work hard in this course. Nothing is given to you. The learning approach is socratic i.e. you are asked questions to help you get to the correct answer. This can be difficult but it is the best way towards autonomy, and that is really what is at the essence of this course. Getting through Hack Reactor means you have become an autonomous programmer with a strength for figuring out how to solve big challenges on your own.
Pros
Supportive staff and student body. Great community.
Cons
Very high standards - this isn't a "con," per se, it's actually a good thing. It's just important to note.
