App Academy was the best investment in myself and my career I've made to date, outshining my four years spent at a top ranked college. The 24-week online program allowed more time to solidify fundamentals I now use on a regular basis, and had a pace that helped the material sink in. Pair programming and collaborating with peers on projects was particular helpful in putting lecture learnings into practice. The career planning prep support was instrumental in helping me secure my first job offer...
Pros
- Well-paced (50-60 hrs / week) - Relevant, in-demand curriculum content - Strong career planning, coaching and placement support - Fully-remote program with no upfront costs available (24 week, ISA)
Cons
- Instructor/TA quality can vary, depending on unpredictable staffing changes

As a student of App-Academy...

Full disclosure, I'm not through the entire course yet. However, I have been studying long enough to be able to say that this is an awesome course. I have dabbled in programming for a number of years so a lot of the concepts are familiar, but overall in the last month, I have learned a ton!
Pros
The thing that I think is the most valuable is the amount of time spent actually writing code and testing out the principles that are taught. The instructor is very good at explaining concepts and demonstrating what he is teaching.
Cons
Likely the biggest con is that lack of ability to connect easily with other students and learn from everyone at the same time. That can be overcome to a degree by intentionally connecting with groups on other platforms and finding a good...

App Academy does an excellent job in providing a curriculum designed for maximum learning. I came into the program with some basic OOP understanding, and left with more knowledge than I could believe I accumulated over 3 months. The program was structured such that everyone can learn as much as they can, including extra resources for those who have enough headspace to spare. In addition, my TAs articulated lectures extremely well. This, combined with a cohort that was very capable and...
Pros
- Learning Curriculum - Great TAs - Strong and supportive environment
Cons
My career coach was unnecessarily rude and showed no interest in my health and well-being, especially during such a stressful time. I guess after all, business is business and his goal was just to get me employed. However, some humanity...
