EFA was a total shock. I’ve been in a few bootcamps before, and they all were like “here’s the book, good luck.” EFA gives you a book and so many other tools. They also give a personal touch. Every Instructor is personally invested in you and your growth. You just don’t see that in other programs. It’s a fast pasted environment, but if you need it to slow down, your instructors make the time to help. The CompTIA information is out there, you can get that anywhere. The people make EFA! Pros
If you're willing to put in the work, the instructors [the entire EFA staff for that matter] will make the time to help in any way they can!
Cons
It's still a bootcamp. Very fast paced, and a ton of reading.

I am a graduate of EFA and it was one of the best decisions for myself. I was able to break into a field I was highly interested in but had very little skill and knowledge of how to break into it. I was able to pass Net+ and Sec+ and career service was able to match me with companies I wanted to work for and get a job offer within 2 months. I am currently studying for my CySA+ certification and I can tell how my time at EFA has prepared me and given me the skills and foundation I was looking...
Pros
The classmates and faculty were amazing. I am still in contact with them and plan to build my network even more as EFA grows. All the resources and tools are provided and available for us and when we needed to talk to a teacher they were...
Cons
It is a bootcamp and it is a lot of information to process. I studied 2-3 hours after class and 3-5 hours on the weekends during my time at EFA. Not everyone is willing or able to put that time in it takes dedication.

Eleven Fifty Academy changed my life, and I would tell everyone I know. After graduating college and failing to get into a graduate program, I was left working at a liquor store for ten dollars an hour. After months and months of searching, I finally landed a job using my degree, and I was more miserable than I thought possible. One morning, I woke up to an email saying I had been laid off. My wife and I were devastated. Two months later I had still not found a job and things...

After close to 7 years in the construction estimation field, I decided it was time to do something I actually enjoy. I had already watched my wife graduate from Eleven Fifty at the end of 2018 and saw how much she enjoyed the experience and work afterwords. I started digging into coding and enrolled at Eleven Fifty quickly after. I was a little worried with the whole course being online and having my daughter with me some days that I may not get the full education I was seeking. However, all...

I registered with a minimal understanding of web development. And had I not had that understanding I would have been lost the entire duration of the course. The instructors were good, but if you didn’t make sure you understood concepts you could quickly fall behind and be behind for good. The part that left a bad taste...

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
