The course covers higly relevant areas in Python, SQL, and Machine Learning. They start out with the fundamentals, but very quickly reach an advanced level, and they cover much more topics than I ever thought, it is a great coverage of areas. There is basically always a teacher available if/when you need help. The teachers also put good emphasis on creating an inclusive environment in the class, and with various social activities (lunches, some after-works, and a couple of bigger social...

If you have som experience with coding from before, you might find the first 1 or 2 weeks slow, but trust me, that the pace picks up quickly and then from week 3-10 you will be satisfied with the pace and the content which is covered.

I wanted to change careers from teching to programing and this bootcamp really kickstarted my knowledge. From not knowing any Python to beeing an autonomuos coder isn't just a slogan for NOD. They really delivered. Highly intense, sometimes frustrating (but for a reason) combined with to few hours a day to do anything else, our minds was turned to clay and got molded with all things data analytics.
Pros
Learnt a lot in a really short amount of time.
Cons
Sometimes frustrating because I owerinterpreted the questions of labs that made them harder than they were.

One of the teachers repeats himself a bit too often, but there are a total of 3 teachers, so it is not a big con.

Attending the 10-weeks Nod bootcamp has been an amazing experience. I have worked as a pure bench scientist before, but feel now comfortable analyzing big data sets independently using python! This will not only facilitate handling my data in a faster and simpler way, but also open up new possibilities for my research projects.
Pros
I specifically enjoyed the small group setting and the possibility to work with your own data or fields of interest during the many mini-projects throughout the course.
Cons
This is a full-time course and you have to make sure to put all your time and focus into this course to get the maximum out of it!

I actually found Nod thru Career Karma and I am grateful I did. You will learn a lot of skills that are useful right now in the field of data analytics. Programming in Python, SQL and Machine learning are the main skills acquired but they also help you with your resume and LinkedIn profile to help you get noticed more if you still want to pursue this career path. You will spend more than 40 hrs. per week learning as you will most often need to work on things at home so be sure you have the time...
Pros
The support is very good. Ask as many questions as needed, even the ones you think are dumb because someone else is probably thinking the same thing.
Cons
We did study SQL but not long enough. Would have liked to studied it it more and presented a project with this as well. Also not any direct job placement which would be nice.

I studied sports science. I want to change my career path from research to data science. That was why I registered for Bootcamp. I learned SQL, libraries of Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn and Sklearn. It is also very nice to talk to other students in the Bootcamp because we exchange the experience of learning coding, hunting jobs and working experience. The Bootcamp not only deepened my knowledge and skill of data science but also broadened my experience because of my nice classmates.
Pros
The course was very organized. There were theory sessions, codealong and lab time. It is a nice process from why to how. After 10 weeks my coding skill is very solid. The teachers in the Nod Coding Bootcamp are very nice and excellent....
Cons
It is always from 9:00-18:00 everyday (intensive and solid). No time for hobby.

I found NOD shortly after moving to Sweden from Asia, where I'd just completed my secondary education. My goal of attending the Bootcamp was to broaden my skillset and become better equipped and prepared for my university studies, although I'd never written a single line of code before that point in my life. I'm happy to say that NOD has surpassed my expectations, allowing me to become highly proficient in a plethora of programming skills, such as SQL, Python, Seaborn, and Machine learning,...
Pros
- great teaching - great value -
Cons
- Very demanding (high effort required)

It was a great experience at the bootcamp. Thou it was intense. Throughout the bootcamp I barely have 6 hours of sleep because I have to practice and finish up on my projects. Even during weekends I still find myself trying to get solutions to my project. It was an excellent experience in all.
Pros
It was very interactive and fun filled.
Cons
Many times I got home tired and stressed

Who started Career Karma?

Created 2 years ago

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Our journey took place in 2014-2015 and if it wasn't for the three of us doing it together we wouldn't be here today. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... I say an incredible opportunity for others like me who were trying to learn how to code on their own but failing to complete their transition. Three years into us...

How do you successfully pass the technical interviews for Flatiron and Hack Reactor (Software Engineering and Cyber Analytics) ?

Created 2 years ago

Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
