When I first started thinking about switching careers to become a software engineer, I looked around for resources to start learning, and stumbled across Rithm’s free courses. I loved that the entire curriculum was available and free, and that I could see where it was going and why they were teaching things. I didn’t understand what any of it was, but as someone with a Masters in Education, I really appreciated that the thought was clearly put into it and that it was all available. I sent a...
Pros
-Super supportive faculty -Lots of opportunities to learn and grow with every exercise having stretch goals at the end -Pair programming: I learned so much by working with my cohort-mates -incredibly thorough code reviews for every...
Cons
-I had an unusual experience where a lead instructor left unexpectedly halfway through my cohort. The other staff jumped in to help, but it did leave some loose ends that we definitely noticed as students. I don't blame Rithm for this,...

I had a great experience with Rithm School! Due to COVID-19, the entire program was conducted remotely. Other than the occasional internet and/or zoom issues, I thought Rithm did a great job being remote. I chose Rithm for the small class size, the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and the company project. They say that they cap the class size at 20 (mine was 11!), with three instructors for each class. This was awesome because it helped us get "unblocked" during the labs/projects , which helped...
Pros
Great instructors that teach the fundamentals which helps you learn and adapt to new concepts quickly. You spent a lot of time on both the front end and back end so you graduate as a true full stack developer. The job support is great and...
Cons
Wish that we would have spent another week learning data structures and algorithms. I found that every interview process that I have been a part of include some sort of coding challenge. Including front end roles. Luckily there are tons of...

I'm a graduate from the R16 cohort and my overall experience with Rithm School has been excellent! How did I find out about Rithm? Rithm School was strongly recommended to me by a very Rithm-passionate friend. Why Rithm? I chose Rithm because of their well-curated curriculum and the small class size. Their curriculum is constantly molded to fit with the current industry's popular languages and frameworks. Having small class sizes really helped in getting quality feedback and help whenever...
Pros
Company Projects, Career Support, Small Class Size, Excellent Instructors, Industry-focused Curriculum
Cons
Remote learning (COVID situation)

I just graduated 3 weeks ago from Rithm and was very impressed. My cohort was a size of 11 total students and we had 3 instructors. Each instructor was very knowledgeable and had rich careers as engineers prior to teaching at Rithm. The curriculum is current and relevant to popular technologies used today. I never felt too overwhelmed also, they do a good job spacing and pacing the coursework out. Weekend assignments can be long and tough, but it really helps solidify the learnings from the...
Pros
Very small cohort, high teacher to student ratio, good pacing of course, relevant and modern frameworks/topics, company project portion at the end
Cons
More expensive than I think all other bootcamps, weekend assignments can be consuming

Overall, the experience was great at Rithm. The course has a great structure that progresses you through the full stack. You will do all labs and exercises with paired programming, which is a great way to learn how others approach these problems. Every week has an assessment that tests what you learned that week. The assessment allows both the school and yourself to see your progress and where you need to improve, which is valuable given the speed of the course. There will be a few multi-day...
Pros
– Great structure and approach to learning the languages and tools – Exposes you to modern engineering practices – Challenging problems that will help you grow faster – Great teachers and staff that are always available to help, even after...
Cons
– I wish the program was actually longer so I could learn more!

Part of Rithm class #8. Elie and crew provide a fantastic course that is taught by mostly people with real world experience (not former students like some other boot camps ). 1 year out, and having been at my new job for a bit, I can attest that they teach a lot of relevent knowledge and concepts needed to succeed on the job.
Pros
Great attention to each individual student. Real world knowledge and best practices. Student to teacher ratio is phenomenal. Teachers are all amazing.
Cons
It's more expensive than some other boot camps (when I took it). However, the extra cost is more than worth it for what you get.

Rithm was absolutely the right choice for me. Initially I thought I wanted to attend Hack Reactor, based on reputation and a positive experience with their online prep program, but as a student with little technical background and lots of questions about the program I felt apprehensive about their slow response times and insistence that I just submit my payment and see how it goes. In contrast to the HR vibe, I felt confident that I would thrive at Rithm after the first evening workshop I...
Pros
Rithm's interview process vets students for technical AND social skills, which is another significant contributor to the amazing educational environment. Despite the relentless pace and regular frustrations, I thoroughly enjoyed working...
Cons
For my career goals and learning style there were no cons. If you already have a strong technical background and just want the shortest path to employment as an engineer, maybe the slightly higher price tag and slightly longer program...

Rithm School helped me prepare extremely well for a career as a Software Engineer. Thanks to the accepting culture they set up, rigorous and up-to-date curriculum and coding principles, and engaging lectures, labs, and assignments I was ready to write code good enough to get me hired in four months.
Pros
- Small class sizes and excellent student to teacher ratios make for a good culture and great support. (20 students to 3 instructors) - Lectures are up to date - for example you’ll learn React Hooks and more modern goodies - Weekly...
Cons
- Somewhat more expensive than other Bootcamps. - The instructor mentorship sessions, while useful, depending on your instructor may require a bit of student leading. - The guaranteed internship is only as useful as the the needs and...

Overall, my experience at Rithm School was very positive. The curriculum was well conceived and was taught well. There were some areas where it was apparent that they are a relatively young company still working out the kinks (listed in the cons), but overall it was a valuable experience.
Pros
Talented teachers Small class sizes Useful, well thought out curriculum and exercises 3 week internship with an actual company to apply skills in lieu of a final project
Cons
Job placement was just being implemented when I graduated. Zach was very helpful for general career coaching, but I did not get much in the way of intros or connections to hiring companies, nor technical practice or feedback once the...

100% worth it. I quit my job, put myself in debt, moved to SF, joined Rithm School on a whim, and it was the best thing I ever did! You have to pass an interview to get into Rithm School (never join a bootcamp that doesn't require an interview first), and you have prework you must finish before the program starts. The prework is tough but extremely necessary if you want to be an employable engineer in 16 weeks. On day one of Rithm School you will be well past the beginner stuff, you will be...
Pros
1) Instructors are fantastic. These are not just some bootcamp grads who got a job teaching at their own bootcamp. These folks are pros and know what they are doing. 2) Job prep. This was the most valuable part for me. Learning to write...
Cons
1) The backend portion is a bit light, but that is expected with a Bootcamp. However, I have seen improvement to the curriculum to make grads more competitive as backend engineers. That all being said, I am now on my second backend...
