There isn't much entrepreneurship in my social circles, so I had no idea where to start when it came to launching my own business. Fortunately, in my mad hunt for a mentor, I was directed to Startup Ignition, and it was everything I could have asked for and more.

Pros

A concise, relevant curriculum An engaged community of alumni who share resources freely A network of "supporters"--vendors who offer great deals to SI alumns Mentoring FOR LIFE (John usually responds same-day)

Cons

Have to travel to Utah to take the course (which I did, and was TOTALLY worth it)

This was a great way to get my founding team on the same page with lean startup principles. Startup Ignition promises a common language to cut through the issues that come from getting everyone on the same page. It helps accelerate your business (and validation of ideas). It also helps avoid pitfalls that come up for many founders. I took the class at the Lehi, UT (not Provo) site.

It’s a massive data dump with little workshop-type, hands-on learning. The hands-on learning comes after and it’s up to you to seek it. The data dump is great for those who learn that way (all the info is accessible afterward to review)....See more

If anyone is truley serious about becoming a successful entrepreneur then doing Startup Ignition. There is no question that doing this course is worth it. The information, mentoring from John Richards and the Alumni network is worth is worth far more than the fees you will pay. Startup Ignition teachs the correct way to go about starting a business.
