I enrolled in bootcamp with no coding experience. The program is 3 months long and our curriculum included React.js, C#, HTML5, SCSS, Restful API's, and PostGreSQL. It could easily be a 6 month program for those of us who had no experience, but the instructors do their best to keep students engaged and working together.
Pros
Our cohort had a good sense of community since we were in the trenches together. There were TA's available most days for additional support during lab time. Instructors were readily available to answer questions even after hours.
Cons
Our cohort finished online because of quarantine and that was disappointing for many of us. If you are completely new to software development, I would spend a few months practicing using online platforms to gain familiarity. Without...

SDG was a fantastic experience, but know that you have to be ready to buckle down and work. Like other reviewers, this isn't for the faint of heart. Be ready to learn, and learn at a fast pace. They make a point to tell you that your support network needs to be good for a reason. No distractions, no drama, and this will be a lot of work for 3 months, but doable. Add some drama and distractions in and this becomes a circus in your personal life. To summarize, any bootcamp is a commitment and...
Pros
Great instructors, great content, good tech, and good space (when we were allowed on campus, DAMN YOU COVID!!).
Cons
Career support has a lot of growing to do. From alumni, there was a community engagement specialist that would make sure that the hiring network was included throughout the cohort, and generally that employers knew that we existed. Career...

I'm a former firefighter turned small business owner that had zero tech experience before SDG. I first learned about SDG while searching for coding schools in Florida. They were offering a test drive class at the time so I decided that would be a good place to start and see if coding was for me. Well, that class left me wanting more and I fell in love with the staff so I knew I would be attending their academy. The academy is tough. I commuted to school every day which made the long hours even...
Pros
Staff, curriculum, Career support, Alum network
Cons
The commute and the fact that the corvid-19 shutdown happened weeks after my graduation. That meant lots of companies in the area went on a hiring freeze.
