I enrolled in bootcamp with no coding experience. The program is 3 months long and our curriculum included React.js, C#, HTML5, SCSS, Restful API's, and PostGreSQL. It could easily be a 6 month program for those of us who had no experience, but the instructors do their best to keep students engaged and working together.
Pros
Our cohort had a good sense of community since we were in the trenches together. There were TA's available most days for additional support during lab time. Instructors were readily available to answer questions even after hours.
Cons
Our cohort finished online because of quarantine and that was disappointing for many of us. If you are completely new to software development, I would spend a few months practicing using online platforms to gain familiarity. Without...

SDG was a fantastic experience, but know that you have to be ready to buckle down and work. Like other reviewers, this isn't for the faint of heart. Be ready to learn, and learn at a fast pace. They make a point to tell you that your support network needs to be good for a reason. No distractions, no drama, and this will be a lot of work for 3 months, but doable. Add some drama and distractions in and this becomes a circus in your personal life. To summarize, any bootcamp is a commitment and...
Pros
Great instructors, great content, good tech, and good space (when we were allowed on campus, DAMN YOU COVID!!).
Cons
Career support has a lot of growing to do. From alumni, there was a community engagement specialist that would make sure that the hiring network was included throughout the cohort, and generally that employers knew that we existed. Career...

I'm a former firefighter turned small business owner that had zero tech experience before SDG. I first learned about SDG while searching for coding schools in Florida. They were offering a test drive class at the time so I decided that would be a good place to start and see if coding was for me. Well, that class left me wanting more and I fell in love with the staff so I knew I would be attending their academy. The academy is tough. I commuted to school every day which made the long hours even...
Pros
Staff, curriculum, Career support, Alum network
Cons
The commute and the fact that the corvid-19 shutdown happened weeks after my graduation. That meant lots of companies in the area went on a hiring freeze.

Best gift I have ever given myself.

Pros
Staff, Curriculum, Career support

The daily commute, and the fact that the COVID-19 shutdown acquired right after I graduated so it took a little longer to find a job. Most places including the company where I was hired went on a hiring freeze.

I graduated from SDG in January of 2019. I cannot praise this program highly enough. The teachers and staff are completely dedicated to student success. I experienced a high level of academic and career support throughout the program and during the job search. Two highlights of the program are the community events that SDG hosts and encourages students to attend, and the field trips that students take to local companies to speak with devs about their jobs. It took me a month and a half after...
Pros
-SDG is more than a coding bootcamp; it's a community organization with roots going back years before the bootcamp began. As an alum, you are tapped into a rich network of genuinely good, caring people. -SDG is a local program. You get to...
Cons
-it's expensive, but it's an in-person, brick-and-mortar, classroom experience. You get what you pay for. Many students look into third party loans in order to finance the education. -it's a very demanding program (I attended the...

SDG taught us the basics of C#, Postgres, APIs, JavaScript, React(including hooks), HTML5, and CSS3 in just 3 months. It was hectic and I enjoyed every minute.
Pros
Fast-paced dive into full-stack web development, with plenty of homework assignments to keep you learning throughout. Helpful and friendly staff. Knowledgeable teachers.
Cons
COVID-19 led to us completing the second half of the bootcamp from home via Zoom, which was not ideal. However, SDG staff was still available for questions whenever we needed.

After working as a banker for over 5 years I decided to take the leap and enroll in Suncoast Developers Guild. Best description ever!
Pros
The staff is EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. They really immerse you in the local dev community which is gold because after you graduate you have so many connections.
Cons
The cons come with any bootcamp. You have a lot to learn in a short amount of time.

Great value!!

I was enrolled in a 12 week fully immersive program. We learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Hooks, RESTful APIs, .NET Core, and Entity Framework. At the end we tied all the topics together and make a full-stack application for our capstone project presented to lots of people of demo day (last day of cohort.) Overall, I learned so much that I would not have learned without this program, the staff is very laid back, and supportive.
Pros
Laid back environment, learn a lot, and makes you ready for a junior development job.
Cons
$15,000 tuition and far away if you live anywhere other than St. Petersburg, FL. It can also be stressful at times, but it's worth it.

I am a recent high school graduate who went to Suncoast Developers Guild immediately afternoon graduating with one goal in mind, to land a job as fast as possible with a solid skill set. SDG helped me achieve just that with an awesome curriculum taught by Mark who has an incredible personality with career support from Katherine, and of course it wouldn’t of been possible without Jason, the CEO/Founder of SDG.
Pros
- Hands-on learning - Structured curriculum - Tremendous networking events
Cons
- Not for the faint of heart, it’s a lot of work. - Could’ve had a longer program with so much to learn.

Great experience

I enrolled in SDG with a background in healthcare billing and almost no programming experience. I was always hesitant about pulling the trigger on a bootcamp before; even though I loved tech and everything related to it for some reason I just thought that I wouldn’t be able to make it professionally in this fast paced industry. Around the time of my 29th birthday I stopped wondering what would be possible and I decided take action and just go for it. It turned out to be one of the best...
Pros
Great career support, fantastic curriculum, knowledgable staff
Cons
Very fast paced learning environment that may not be for everyone
