Nucamp was the most affordable boot camp I could find and was also the most flexible for my schedule as I work full time. It's definetly intense for those of us with no tech background, but the instructors are very helpful and there are always extra resources linked for additional studying. I think I made a good choice in selecting Nucamp.
Pros
Affordable, flexible.
Cons
Fast paced, intense.

Seeking career change while working already full-time. NuCamp provides flexibility with study schedule, and support through Slack channel.
Pros
Learned a lot I wouldn't of been able to otherwise on my own.
Cons
More accountability and checking in on my progress, other than just the once a week mandatory workshop, would of been helpful.

My Nucamp experience has been great so far. I wanted to get out of my current profession and into one that give me greater creative control and the ability to work remotely. Nucamp is helping to make that possible. The Python fundamentals course was pretty intense, but mostly because I have no prior experience in coding. I would have been completely lost if I hadn't already taken Nucamp's Web Development Fundamentals course. I'm excited to start the next module of my Backend, SQL, and DevOps...
Pros
The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful at explaining concepts that seem foreign at times.
Cons
I have no prior experience with coding so it's a struggle at times, but the community and instructors are a great resource to assist with problems when necessary.

For 2 years, I've been dabbling with coding by paying for and working through online courses. Though I learned some things about web development, I never followed through because life got in the way, plus I didn't feel like I had the right structure to learn. NuCamp has given me the right structure and pathway to learn web development, and it's also very affordable. I love the way the courses are set up and the way we get to meet with fellow NuCampers in the course. Go NuCamp!
Pros
Thorough course content and affordable
Cons
Heavy work load, but that's the point of a bootcamp, right?

I enrolled in nucamp to make myself more marketable to hiring managers and recruiters. I already had a good amount of experience with python, before taking this course. I did not learn much in the python fundamentals section, but I am hoping to in the next two courses (SQL and DevOps).
Pros
* Your assignments are do on Saturdays, so you have all week to get your work done. * The only mandatory meetings are on Saturday mornings.
Cons
* Did not learn a lot in the python fundamentals course.

I've taken courses on freecodecamp and other websites like it where you can learn how to code and while the non-profit side is benevolent and an amazing feat. The quality of content is nowhere near as good as Nucamp's. Within my first 10 minutes in Nucamp's Python and JavaScript course I was able to understand what took me more than 1 hour on other sites to learn. I didn't have to watch an hour long video and listen to an instructor unconsciously ramble before getting to the point. I was able...

The instructors are also all so extremely knowledgeable and very kind about questions on the course and other matters! My favorite instructor, Todd Sparrow, is a legend and a master in SQL with Python. If you're lucky enough to have him as...

I am interested in switching careers and working remotely. I have always wanted to be a programmer. I researched many bootcamps, but landed on Nucamp, because of the amount of material offered at such a great value, the support tools, career assistance, and life-time access to the material and network. Other bootcamps I researched did not offer everything that I wanted. Plus, the reviews were great, and job placement statistics higher than most. I feel I am learning a lot and I'm having fun...
Pros
Real live instructors rather than only recordings of instructors presenting the lessons. A large amount of material offered at a great value. Lot's of support tools, career assistance, and life-time access to the material and network.
Cons
I would like to see more detailed slides that I can return to. The platform is difficult to navigate at first, but after a couple of weeks it is okay.

Who started Career Karma?

Created 2 years ago

So Career Karma was started by Artur, Ruben and myself out of our own struggles career transitioning into Tech. Our journey took place in 2014-2015 and if it wasn't for the three of us doing it together we wouldn't be here today. Once we got our high paying jobs in tech and I was working as a Software Engineer ... I say an incredible opportunity for others like me who were trying to learn how to code on their own but failing to complete their transition. Three years into us...

How do you successfully pass the technical interviews for Flatiron and Hack Reactor (Software Engineering and Cyber Analytics) ?

Created 2 years ago

Good question. They are very different so I would recommend doing prep courses for both to try it out. However, then decide which specialty you're most interested in and go for those technical interviews. In preparation, definitely complete the prep course. The next steps for you should be to ask the admissions officer about the type of questions that are going to be on the technical interviews. What resources do they recommend you review to get accepted? What they think will...
