About Treehouse

The Team Treehouse online school is a tech education platform designed to teach students about coding and design. There are over 300 Team Treehouse programs covering 23 different topics. This Team Treehouse review will analyze the school’s teaching style and affordability, and assess how much you can benefit from it.

You don't need to take a loan or sign up for a Team Treehouse deferred tuition program to pay for the education provided by this online platform. All Team treehouse payment options are subscription-based, allowing you to switch between tiers depending on what you can afford. This online course provider has yet to organize a Team Treehouse scholarship program, but you can get a seven-day free trial to explore its courses.

There is no Team Treehouse job placement program, either. However, the technical and soft skills Team Treehouse helps you learn and showcase are more than enough to get a job in your desired career path. Team Treehouse offers interactive courses on 21st-century skills and business skills, and awards badges you can use to track the progress of your learning experience. The courses you complete are great for attaching to your resume.

It can take between three to nine months to complete a Team Treehouse Techdegree. However, since Team Treehouse programs are self-paced and with most of the lessons being video courses or starter projects you’ll need to complete on your own time, your learning speed is entirely in your control. You won't need to do any kind of Team Treehouse bootcamp prep since the school is extremely beginner-friendly. You can jump right in and start learning.

What sets Team Treehouse apart from other online course providers is its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Its mission is to provide tech educational opportunities to underrepresented members of society at an affordable rate. It also aims to promote diversity in tech and create opportunities for underrepresented populations by offering them easily accessible hands-on projects to develop practical skills.

I truly enjoyed going through this course because it has plenty of topics and the content is explained very well. I felt like they definitely put in a lot of effort to make sure the students could learn and grow in the classroom.
Pros
Guil Hernandez is my favorite instructor! They have a slack channel for open discussion and support. The coursework covers a broad array of topics and they have lots of practice projects to solidify understanding.
Cons
Can't really think of anything. Maybe offering some kind of promo or discount on occasion would be great.

I truly enjoyed going through the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree course that Treehouse offers. It has a lot of practice sessions on a wide variety of topics and plenty of projects that can be added to your portfolio!
Pros
Slack channel, great support, explains the coursework extremely well, and there's projects!
Cons
A forum board with a Q&A maybe. Can't think of anything right now.

Treehouse is a great place to get your start in coding by learning the basics. I started the front-end web development tech degree, and I learned HTML, CSS, and was introduced to SASS.
Pros
The videos are excellent and the instructors are thorough. I also like the occasional quizzes to test knowledge.
Cons
Though $200 per month is affordable for a bootcamp, it's still very steep. A lot of people cannot afford to spend that every month, and I had to stop when my situation changed.

I am currently a Front End Web Development student at Treehouse and I highly recommend their program. I started off knowing nothing about coding, and I just submitted my sixth project where I wrote a whole JavaScript game program! I feel the course videos are very clear, engaging and in depth, and they do not throw too much information at you, but enough to challenge you. There is a also a wonderful Slack community, where fellow students and professional moderators can interact. Anytime I have...
Pros
The Slack community is one my favorite things about Treehouse. It is a great place to share projects and resources, interact with other students, ask questions, and submit projects for informal reviews before submitting for a grade. I also...
Cons
I don't have many cons, but my only con would be sometimes I wish the projects were harder. Some of the course work seems harder than the projects.

Overall a great way to get into programming. The courses are well structured and the teachers are great at explaining things.
Pros
Great at detailed explanations and the course work is well laid out.
Cons
It’s a little pricey. As a total newbie it would have been better for me to start with the stacks instead of going straight for the tech degree. The tech degree does its best to bring you up to speed but honestly starting off with a stack...

By Treehouse for life I mean I'll likely be a lifetime member. I started at Treehouse with very little domain knowledge and I've transformed into a web developer in a relatively short period thanks to their excellent learning experience. But the learning never stops - and I'm confident that Treehouse will continue to provide current, practical, and engaging content. I recommend Treehouse to family and friends, and I'm comfortable recommending it to you as well - you being someone who is serious...
Pros
* Incredible videography/sound production quality. There's nothing worse than poorly lit, muffled training videos. Treehouse puts a lot of energy into their production and it's a pleasure to watch. * Inevitably, learning comes with low...
Cons
* In my opinion there isn't enough emphasis on data structures, algorithms, and other computer science areas. There are some meaningful introductions to a lot of these topics, but I found myself wanting the full Treehouse experience here...

You'll definitely become a better programmer.

As you might know, the Techdegree is divided in Units which have projects at the end of it. The classes give you a lot of you need to know to get throught it, but not everything, which is not bad. As a programmer, you should learn how to search for information online. But even if you don't, the Techdegree tutors will have you covered, providing great explanation for whatever your curious about.
Pros
The content is relevant; They will get you started from the scratch; The teachers give great explanation; You'll get support whenever you need; The projects will help you create a nice portfolium;
Cons
There are somethings that they should teach you from the start, like how to host a backend project, or how to make your frontend hosted project interact with your backend hosted project. I would really appreciate some more content like web...

Overall, Treehouse TechDegree programs are definitely worth it! I loved the interactive projects and slack group chats for each unit in the course. There are 10 units that progressively dive deeper into web development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Pros
I loved the support provided by the staff and the fellow students. The curriculum is very well thought out to keep you practicing skills While teaching you more and more about the industry and how to create interactive and useful web...
Cons
Towards the end, they start providing almost all of the CSS and HTML, and I was kind of disappointed because it didn’t allow me to code as much in these two languages as I would have liked.

Treehouse is one of the best online Bootcamp i know, they're cheap and affordable, have good instructors and are flexible with the student's time.
Pros
It's self-paced. Treehouse community and Slack is a good place to get help. Beginner ready(up to project 2 or 3). Can look at other videos outside the TechDegree for additional explanation.
Cons
Sometimes it may get repetitive.

I love the journey I took in this path. I learned a lot like flask for some web development and databases. The projects we have to do I really enjoyed and are challenging. However, if you are new to python, you can still go through the class just fine; you'll receive help also if needed.
Pros
Watch videos on your own time. Treehouse community and Slack is good place to get help. Beginner ready(up to project 2 or 3). Can look at other videos outside the TechDegree for additional explanation.
Cons
Some lessons needed knowledge from different topics and wasn't in the TechDegree path. Some videos later in the TechDegree used complex explain rather than simple explains so it was hard to follow at first.
