In the new economy, digital skills are in high demand. If you’re on this page, you’re probably aware of some of the possibilities that the tech field provides, but you may not know the full scope of how fast companies are hiring throughout the industry.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) expects job opportunities in the software development field to grow by 22 percent by 2030. This rate is significantly faster than the general job market, which BLS expects to grow by 8 percent by 2030. And the rapidly growing job market extends beyond the marquee field of software development.
Data engineering displayed the fastest year-over-year growth of any other tech job, according to the 2020 Dice Tech Jobs report. The field’s 50 percent growth was significantly higher than the similarly impressive runner-up, backend development, at 38 percent. With the demand for senior data scientists also rising rapidly, the message is clear: both web development and data management are great options for a viable career in the new digital economy.
On the upside: many educational options have appeared in the past few years to help people take advantage of these opportunities. Yet with so many options, it can be hard to know which ones give you a good chance to succeed. It may help to narrow down the qualities that you find important before making your decision.
You’d want a learning experience that doesn’t just overload you with knowledge and push you out before you’re ready. You don’t want a coding bootcamp that will just skim basic concepts. You want one that gives you real-world applicable coding skills.
You’d benefit more from one that will teach you the principles behind your new tech skills, so you’ll be prepared to continue learning new technologies for the rest of your life and career. Because if you want to turn your first new job into a stepping stone for a career, you’ll need help learning how to learn.
Promineo Tech is one of the organizations that can help you close the knowledge gap between you and your new career. This company partners with several established educators to pair students with colleges in their area to help launch their new careers. And it works to give each student real coding skills that translate to the industry.
Promineo Tech’s programs can serve as a worthy complement for college-educated students entering the field, or stand on their own for students without degrees. Each of its programs will help you bolster your resume with modern skills that will help you stand out in the 21st-century job market.

How to Become a Job-Ready Software Developer in 18 Weeks with Promineo Tech
Coding bootcamps aren’t an easy or a magical pathway to a high salary. They provide students with a pathway towards a career in the booming tech industry while helping them make connections with prospective employers.
Promineo Tech’s partnerships offer a great opportunity for people to do both. Students who hope to enter the software development field have two options: a back end bootcamp, and a front end bootcamp. Before you make a decision, it may help to learn a bit more about both disciplines and how they work together to provide a smooth user experience.
Think about building a webpage like building a house—you need a foundation that ensures everything in the home stays in place. You need a frame, drywall, bricks, water, and electricity to make sure that the house has a shape and is liveable. The back end of a webpage is like its foundation and the front end is like the part of the home that visitors see.
Promineo Tech’s partners offer options that let you learn how to do what you need while building the tools you need for a long-term career.
Back End Software Development Bootcamp
A home needs a strong foundation, which is the back end of a site. Also known as the server-side, it’s the part of a website’s code that interfaces with its data structure. By interacting with its data structure, a site can call forth content like images and documents, while also adding content to a database, like usernames, passwords, and emails.
For this 18-week course, students start with six weeks of Java instruction. They learn about the language and its algorithms before moving on to the study of object-oriented programming (OOP). After studying OOP, students then move into design patterns and unit testing.
The next six weeks are dedicated to building relational databases with MySQL. Students learn about SQL before progressing to Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), an application framework that determines how clients access a database. From there, they progress to data definition language (DDL), which lays out how data is sorted in its database.
Then, students explore more database concepts before diving into data manipulation language (DML) which SQL uses to store, retrieve, change, and delete data in a database. After the SQL section, students progress to the final six weeks of Spring Boot instruction.
Students are introduced to Spring Boot in Week 13 before progressing to Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the most widely-used cloud computing services in the world. After learning about AWS, students progress to JSON Web Tokens (JWT), which helps provide tokens that allow for secure exchanges of information between parties.
Lastly, students learn about RESTful APIs, which help companies share apps and their associated data with third parties before progressing to Java Persistence API (JPA). JPA is a series of concepts that help create objects that stay on a database for years to come.
But a house wouldn’t be much with just a foundation. If you’re more interested in building something that everyone will get a chance to see, then maybe the front end bootcamp may be more for you.
Front End Software Development Bootcamp
If a webpage is a home with HTML as its frame, then CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, is the paint, brick, windows, and more. This language is largely responsible for determining the look and true layout of elements on the page.
Then, the class covers AWS and REST before ending on Node Package Manager (NPM), a software registry with hundreds of thousands of code packages that simplify development.
Regardless of which program you choose, you’ll be gaining valuable experience that will make you market-ready. And you can often do so without even paying the accessible cost upfront. Each partner is different, but several offer generous financing options to help you get started.
What Is the Value of a Promineo Tech Certificate?
A Promineo Tech certificate shows employers in your area that you’ve passed a coding bootcamp that is up to the standards of a university. We’ve mentioned before that Promineo partners with dozens of universities around the country. This organization believes in allowing students to earn certificates from educational institutions that local employers trust.
“Each college offering a Promineo Tech bootcamp provides students with a certificate or award upon completion,” said Nick Suwyn, CEO of Promineo Tech.
“While these documents show employers that job applicants have completed an arduous program backed by both the college and Promineo Tech, the true value of these bootcamps comes from the hands-on skills acquired by our students that enable them to pass technical interviews and perform on the job.”
An emphasis on capability sets the tech field apart from most other job markets. Employers are certainly interested in hiring candidates with strong credentials, but the ability to successfully do the work is what lands you the job. Each position you apply for will have a technical interview where you’ll have to show your coding prowess. So the certificate opens the door for you to display the skills you’ve learned in your bootcamp.
Skill Up with Promineo Tech
Promineo Tech alumni feel like the experience that they’ve gained from the school has helped them turn over a new chapter in their lives.
“I am sad that this bootcamp and learning experience has come to a close,” alum Caleb said. “Promineo Tech has done such an incredible job teaching me and giving me the tools to learn endlessly. I feel ready and eager to enter the world of a developer by using my new abilities to code with Java, MySQL, and Spring Boot.”
