The non-credit certificate program is designed for women in managerial roles who wish to rise to a higher level of corporate leadership, even reaching C-suite level. This program can help women develop an innovative, resilient, and collaborative culture while helping them learn the skills they need to advocate on behalf of themselves and the teams they lead.
The program is also encouraged for men who want to understand the challenges that women leaders face in the corporate world. Men who better educate themselves on the barriers that female leaders encounter during their journey can be ready to stand up for their colleagues when necessary. This program won’t teach men to stick up for women by taking away their agency, but instead, learn ways to provide critical support when times get difficult.

This six-week Women in Leadership program consists of six week-long modules. A new subject matter expert teaches in each of the first five modules while the sixth module features a panel discussion with industry experts. This allows students to gather insights and learn from the personal experiences of other successful women leaders.
- Module 1: Growing a Culture of Innovation – Practice innovative strategies, learn how to cultivate innovation, and reflect on positive experiences while considering how to build your perfect culture of innovation. This module is taught by Quinn O’Briant, MFA, MLA, a public speaker and expert in creativity and innovation.
- Module 2: Innovating Across Culture – Soumaya Khalifa, MBA, an expert in human resources and working across cultures, teaches the second portion of the program, where students will learn about the impact that culture has on a business’s success in the market and in the workplace, along with its effect on the world.
- Module 3: Driving Engagement – Nancy Green, MBA, performance strategist and owner of iinteg Inc., teaches how to drive engagement. Learn best-practice tools and ways to make you and your team more involved.
- Module 4: Leading with Resilience – Learn about the qualities that create resilient leaders and how resilient leaders impact their teams and culture. Katie Karppala, MSOL, PCC, BCC, and an expert in resilience and emotional intelligence, leads this module.
- Module 5: Advocating for Yourself – The fifth module dives deeper into the topics presented above, with a focus on advocating for yourself. Led by Sarah D. Carlson, career transformation and self-advocacy expert, learn how to identify your professional strengths, interests, and values, and how to articulate those to advance your career potential.
- Module 6: Industry Expert Panel Discussion – The final module is a two-hour live discussion panel with industry experts who hold leadership-level positions in major corporations. Students will have the opportunity to engage with these experts in real-time and hear insights, personal experiences, and opinions that you can apply to your career.
